Recently, CBTL Southern Lixun Testing Laboratory participated in the capability verification of 23e26-1 ball pressure test organized by IFM Quality Services Pty Ltd, an international capability verification provider, and obtained satisfactory results.

  CBTLSouthern LCS testing lab was noticed that we get the excellent result from organizer IFM who providedthe proficiency testing No. 23e26-1 “Ball Pressure Test”.

Capability verification is an important technical means for laboratory accreditation bodies and management departments to judge laboratory capabilities, and it is also an important external quality assurance means for laboratories. By regularly participating in the ability verification test, we have effectively tested the accuracy and scientificity of the test results in our laboratory, and strengthened our confidence in issuing reliable data for customers!

At present, a large number of nonmetallic insulating materials used in electrical products are mostly modified plastic materials, and the mechanical and physical properties of these materials are greatly affected by temperature. For safety reasons, the relevant safety standards for electrical and electronic products stipulate that external parts made of nonmetallic materials, insulating parts used to support live parts (including connections) and thermoplastic parts that provide additional insulation or strengthen insulation should be fully heat-resistant. As an important test method for evaluating the heat resistance of nonmetallic materials in many product safety standards, abnormal hot ball pressure test has been repeatedly cited.

The verification plan of ball pressure test capability is based on IEC 60695-10-2:2014, which requires a pressure ball with a diameter of 5±0.05 mm to exert a downward force equivalent to a load of 20N±0.2N on the sample, keep it at the specified temperature for 600+2 min, take it out and keep it in water at 20 5℃ for 6±2 min, then take it out of the water and wipe off the surface moisture.

Key point reminder: Indentation diameter measurement can measure the maximum distance from the clear boundary on one side of the indentation to the clear boundary on the other side.
